MSAV 25000 Catenary multi-voltage & current sensor
Railway Energy Management
With increasing competition, European railway companies want to know exactly how much energy their trains are consuming at various times. Also the electricity providers want to make sure they can bill every kWhr that is consumed.
Energy saving is also part of the train drivers objectives. A train is heavy and controlling its speed will have a direct impact on the energy consumption and wear of equipment. Traindrivers will benefit from realtime information as estimating the cinetic energy accumulated by the train is sufficient to maintain the train on schedule without requiring motor traction.
Meeting these goals requires an onboard system that measures voltage and current accurately.
The MSAV 25000 catenary multi-voltage and current sensor offers an universal measuring device with all the outputs needed to feed all approved energy

Space and weight saving
Eliminate roof top caption transformer as well as AC current transducer reducing space and weight. Integration of multiple measurement values in a single device. Ease of installation The MSAV 25000 can easily be installed on the train roof of any rolling stock; high speed, regional trains, locomotives, trams. It can be integrated with an Alstom 22CBNG breaker or mounted on fixed installations.
In conformity with railway standards:
- EN 50463 - Energy measurement on board trains
- IEC 60077 - Electrical equipment for rolling stock in railway applications
- IEC 61373 - Rolling stock equipment, shock and vibration test
- EN 50121 - Electromagnetic compatibility for railway applications
- EN 50155 - Electronic equipment used on rolling stock for railway applications
- NF F16-101/102 - Fire and smoke behaviour
-
IEC 60529 - European standard description protection class (IP66)
